Taiwan’s air connectivity continues to grow as United Airlines and Tigerair Taiwan introduce new international routes from Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). United Airlines has launched a Taipei-Guam route, offering twice-weekly flights, while Tigerair Taiwan has inaugurated its Taipei-Oita service, also flying twice a week.

United Airlines Launches Taipei (Taoyuan) – Guam Route

United Airlines, one of the world’s largest carriers, officially launched its new Taipei (Taoyuan)-Guam service on Wednesday, operating two flights per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The airline will use a Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 166 seats, ensuring ample capacity for travelers.

• From Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Guam (GUM):
  • Wednesdays: Departs at 10:30 a.m.
  • Saturdays: Departs at 11:00 a.m.
• From Guam (GUM) to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE):
  • Wednesdays & Saturdays: Departs at 7:00 a.m.

United Airlines has been operating in Taiwan since 1986, and the airline has transported over 2 million passengers between Taoyuan and San Francisco since 2014. This new route to Guam, a popular vacation and business destination, strengthens the airline’s presence in Asia-Pacific.

At the inaugural flight ceremony, representatives from the Guam Visitors Bureau and United Airlines visited Taiwan to promote Guam’s appeal as a travel destination. The introduction of this route reflects growing travel demand between Taiwan and Guam, particularly as tourism and business ties expand.

Kenichi Kiriyama, United Airlines’ Director of Sales for Japan, Micronesia, the Philippines, and Taiwan, emphasized the airline’s commitment to Taiwan and announced that United Airlines will also launch a Kaohsiung-Tokyo route on July 12 to further enhance connectivity.

Tigerair Taiwan Inaugurates Taipei (Taoyuan) – Oita Route

Tigerair Taiwan, Taiwan’s leading low-cost airline, has introduced its new Taipei-Oita service, flying twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This route makes Oita Tigerair’s 21st destination in Japan and marks the airline’s fourth direct flight to the Kyushu region, following Fukuoka, Saga, and Miyazaki.
